Teen Drivers Education Choices
In-Class vs Online

TEEN DRIVERS EDUCATION CHOICES

IN-CLASS ROOM VS ONLINE CLASSES

KNOWING THE LAW IS NOT ENOUGH

LEARN WHY IT’S THE LAW AND

HOW TO APPLY IT WHILE DRIVING

ā€‹

The online programs leave a lot to be desired and do not teach what driving schools are required to teach at our schools. Secondly, vast majority of parents should not teach their children to drive, any more than most spouses should not teach each other.

Many people barely pass the Road Test with a grade of barely a 70, which is in the neighborhood, that is why:

- They cannot handle larger streets, downtown, the Galleria area, parking, u-turns, islands in the middle of the road, or the freeway.  And the reason        is that most people and many instructors cannot answer the following questions:

Before you move:

Do you know what is around you?

Where do you want to go?

Where are you going to stop?

How are you going to get there?

ā€‹

THIS IS WHAT WE TEACH

  • How early do you signal to turn? Why is it that distance? Do you know how to apply the law?

  • How to steer and accelerate with the best control

  • How to understand your centered in your lane

  • How to understand how to be behind the stop line or stop sign

  • How to properly creep up to the curb line

  • When to turn on signals

  • How to understand the intersections

  • How many stops signs you may have and understand ROW

  • How to properly clear intersections

  • How to parallel park in the simplest manner

  • How to understand your blind spot and your true blind spot

  • What is your void area?

  • How to safely leave a parking lot

  • How to properly turn at medians in the road

  • How to properly turn under freeways

  • How to safely turn on islands

  • How to enter and exit safely on the freeway

  • How to control vehicle and make lane changes

ā€‹

NOT BEING ABLE TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS MEANS THE DRIVER IS NOT BEST PREPARED TO DRIVE IN BUSY, FASTER, OR HIGHLY TRAVELLED INTERSECTIONS AND STREETS

There are three ways for a teen 14-24 years old to get their permit/license (18+ may take Adult Permit Class)

In-Classroom, Online 2nd Party, or Online Parent Taught ā€‹

A. BEST OPTION IN-CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

Although the classroom classes is only as good as the instructor, even the not so good schools teach you better. In the classroom, it covers many more topics and is more in depth than when taking an online course. In short, online classes are cheaper and a short cut method of getting a very poor education for your child. Don't you want the best opportunity to get the best knowledge skills for your child.

There are two ways to take classes online, both are required to have parents contact TDLR and get authorization to register for the classes.

B . 2ND OPTION ONLINE TEEN PROGRAM

An Online program that is not parent taught only covers the classroom portion.   The driving portion should be done by a driving school, the DE-964 Certificate should be transferred to the school doing the driving portion of 7 hours driving/7 hours observation required by the State of Texas $310

We regret that we no longer offer online programs, not happy with the providers. If you do use an online program, research them well, and make your choice.
